Nishen Bhagaloo, MBChB, attended Walter Sisulu University in Mthatha, South Africa, and was awarded his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree in 2004. His served his internship at the University of Cape Town (2004-2005) and conducted his community service training at the Nelson Mandela Academic Hospital, where he attained the position of Senior Medical Officer in 2007-2008. Dr. Bhagaloo also holds a Diploma in Business Management from the London School of Business and Finance and a Physician Leadership Institute Certificate from Joule Inc., studied Business Excellence for Health Professionals at the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business, Executive Leadership for Healthcare Professionals at the Cornell University – College of Human Ecology, and is a Certified Tobacco Educator (CTE) and a Certified Respiratory Educator (CRE)  with the Canadian Network for Respiratory Care. He remains at the forefront of his challenging specialty via memberships and affiliations with prestigious professional societies and associations, such as the Canadian Society of Physician Leaders, the College of Family Physicians of Canada, the Family Physician Airways Group of Canada, the Canadian Respiratory Health Professionals, the Saskatchewan Thoracic Society, and the Sport Medicine and Science Council of Saskatchewan.
